Lydia is a partner of Portolano Cavallo since 2018. She joined the firm in 2016 as counsel, with responsibility for the Intellectual Property practice.

Relying upon her 21+ year professional experience, Lydia assists Italian and foreign clients in matters of Intellectual and Industrial Property, in court proceedings, with particular focus upon disputes for violations of trademarks and patents, design and copyrights, as well as in the extrajudicial context of corporate transactions and commercial agreements.

Furthermore, Lydia counsels businesses on consumer protection and advertising, and has honed deep knowledge of the digital, media & technologylife sciencesfashionand food & beverage sectors.

Lydia is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) and of the Chiefs in Intellectual Property (ChIPs) network, where she is in the organizing committee of the Italy Chapter.

After earning her Law Degree from the Università degli Studi di Milano, Lydia was awarded a Ph.D in “International Economic Law” by the Università commerciale Luigi Bocconi of Milan, defending a dissertation on “Exhaustion of intellectual property rights in the framework of the TRIPs Agreement. Interests of intellectual property rights owners and the principle of free circulation of goods”.

Prior to joining Portolano Cavallo, Lydia worked at top Italian and international law offices, leading for 8 years the Intellectual Property Team at Allen & Overy.
